En ‪#‎ EnglishStudio‬ se ha notado el cambio de paradigmas de estudio del idioma y se apuesta fuertemente al microlearning a través de un intenso trabajo en la creación de unidades de aprendizaje y práctica para los dispositivos móviles. Para todos los niveles. En esta primera etapa del proyecto ya se publicaron actividades para niños y, actualmente se estan disenando actividades para adultos nivel básico e intermedio. El microlearning (en español microaprendizaje) se refiere a formas de aprendizaje a través de pequeñas unidades de contenido interconectadas y de actividades de corta duración (Lindner, 2006; Schmidt, 2007) pudiendo ser visualizadas y realizadas en cualquier momento y lugar (Melendez, 2015). El término microlearning es comúnmente usado en el contexto del e-learning y más recientemente del Aprendizaje electrónico móvil o M-learning.

 El nuevo entorno en el que los niños y jóvenes se sienten cómodos es el de las aplicaciones móviles. Las mismas se ofrecen a diario, gratuitamente muchas, en diferentes plataformas (android, ipad , windows). Representan una gran fuente de recursos que pueden resultar altamente atractivos para los alumnos. Hay que buscar nuevas formas de ayudarlos a expresarse. Los ejemplos de abajo podrían haberse logrado tradicionalmente con un simple cuestionario dado por el docente y contestado por escrito en cuaderno con oraciones que reflejan la puesta en práctica de la estructura enseñada. En este caso, el cuestionario está, lo que falta, pero fue reemplazado con creatividad, fueron las respuestas. Las voces de los personajes son las de los alumnos. En English Studio se exploran permanentemente todas estas posibilidades, y se aplican con efectividad. Una de las características de English Studio es incentivar el uso de la lengua que se enseña en diferentes contextos y el centro de producción multimedia con el que contamos propicia generosamente estas prácticas. Vemos como ejemplo un gráfico representando un mapa en la parte superior de este post, totalmente realizado por una alumna que acaba de aprender diferentes formas de preguntar y dar direcciones en inglés. Se denomina aprendizaje electrónico móvil, en inglés, m-learning, a una metodología de enseñanza y aprendizaje valiéndose del uso de pequeños y maniobrables dispositivos móviles, tales como teléfonos móviles, celulares, agendas electrónicas, tablets PC, pocket pc, i-pods y todo dispositivo de mano que tenga alguna forma de conectividad inalámbrica. Some of the bad aspects of teaching Grammar is when you feel your students find the practice activities really boring. I always say that sometimes students have to put up with boring grammar exercises. But they also have the right to see something different (and not so unattrative) from time to time. You can create a funny video to get them to do what you want them to practise: One thing I learnt while exploring the web is that you have to be on the alert all the time-you can discover extremely varied sites /tools / resources that will trigger further ideas.
